JEN!!! What you have is a disease called trichotillomania. It is basically pulling out your hair for lots of different reasons. Ok- Jen, please listen to me. Eyelash/eyebrow puller for about 2 years. I couldn't stop, I hid from friends about it, people would ask, and I woul just give them a lie and say that I was allergic to mascara. Ok, so yeah I tried everything, my parents wouldn't send me to consuling, soooooooo, I didn't know what to do. I went through my ups and downs, I ENVIED TREMENDOUSLY everyone who had beautiful long lashes. Ok, well.... where is this going.... I believe I have found a good intervention that WORKS!!!!!! It does cost some money and takes some effort, but I believe that most people are willing to sacrafice that to kick this horrrrrrrid disease or whatever u would like to call it. Ok, well... I really wanted to just stop this, I was so sick of hiding and not having confidence in myself and well, you know the symtoms. Ok that's the first part you have to be DEDICATED AND WILLING to stop this, and now here comes the good part. I had a very formal banquet to goto, and my mom wanted me to get acrylic nails. So, I didn't get them that long, but moderatly long. Ok well, after taht I tried pulling lashes out..... I COULDN'T! THey were too short for my thick long nails to get to! So I had no choice. Also, sometimes I would pull without noticing. With nails, by the time I can pull out an eyelash it has been a few minutes, I can notice that I'm picking and STOP MYSELF FROM DOING IT. Yes, gals, I know it takes 30/3 weeks, but it's worth it. And once the lashes get longer, yes u can pull, but not as easily,and plus, after seeing to results, WHY WOULD U WANT TO? I feel for all of u. I've been pick free for about 5 weeks and alot of my lashes are back. When I put mascara on I accualy get comments on my lashes. I have sooooooo much more confidence now, u wont even believe it. Yes, there has been some permanent damage, but oh well. What can I do? Also, wear gloves around the house and to bed at night, picking is sort of a habit and once you kick it for awhile it helps!! Golves make it IMPOSSIBLE TO PULL ANY OUT. I believe that I have almost completely kicked the habit and I am so proud of myself, please try getting acrylic nails gals, and if it doesnt work out, at least you'll have pretty nails ;) !!
