i have been very slowly thinning since two months after stopping my accutane cycle over 2 years ago (the first month of thinning was actually quite rapid). accutane changed the entire structure of my hair, going from very thick and healthy to very fine. i never noticed extra shedding, which was very odd, even though i noticed the slow thinning...now 2.5 years later, my hair has started shedding like crazy, falling out even when i touch it. i have no idea why, and neither do the dermatologists i went to (they still defend accutane, big surprise). it was an odd coincidence, because the day before i believe i had started taking different vitamins instead of just a daily one...now i don't believe that in one day they could effect me like that, but i also thought on the bright side that it may be a shed that will lead to thicker hair sort of like the first weeks of rogaine or nioxin ( i am realistic so i highly doubt it). the derm told me that vitamins will do nothing helpful, and that i might as well stop them as they may lead to damaging side effects. i really don't know what to think anymore, even to try. i would take 5x the amount of acne i had, just to have my hair and skin back to the way it was and to not have chapped lips anymore. i also have had a lot of problems with my intestines in the past few years that i would easily say had something to do with accutane. it's just sad to think that i will never feel like myself again.
