As far as what has been explained to me, the base lace on the FNT is a heavier guauge but someone else said there was no difference in the lace.
FNT has the polystrip around the base parimeter so there is a detection factor right there. However, most of the peeps on the forum said that you hardly feel the polystrip at all. The FNT basically has double the lifespan of a minimal(really depends on how you take care of it though). Others have made comments on it being a bit uncomfortable when sleeping(like they feel it shift a little), I think that is just due to having tape around the perimeter. DD and others have made comments about it itching like mad when your own hairs start to grow. A remedy for that was to use glue all over the scalp like you would a minimal(still use tape around the perimeter), that should also take care of the shifting bit when sleeping. That being said, if you dont use glue then it should be really easy to clean up. Supposedly it's easuer to attach. If you opt for longer hair(9 inches or more?) then get a FNT.
Ultra-minimal : All lace, no polystrip. For non-detectability, just as the name implies... Ultra. Great for the shorter hair styles(I was told they could do a flat-top hairstyle). The whole thing is glued to your head(meaning glue all over the scalp) so it's completely comfortable when sleeping or even doing the dishes!!(amazing no?) You do not feel it shift or move(the damn thing is glued to your head). You do not feel anything where your real hair meets the system hair(I can vouche for that as can the women I have dated, ehr at least the ones that know). Now for the bad stuff(if you call it that)
Every piece has a center(I can come up with some pretty enlightening stuff sometimes). When attaching the minimal, it is crucial to have that center lined up with the center of your scalp. This is for for the undetectability part and for being comfortable.
You may feel everything is okay when attaching it but later find that something doesnt feel right or your hair doesnt fall right(not counting bad hair days) system is not centered. Also all it takes is one edge to be a little loose or not aligned properly and when someone runs thier fingers across it, BLAMMO!! instant FNT since they just felt the perimeter. So attaching is just as important as the make of the system. Finding that center and applying the system correctly isnt as big a deal as it seems in this post. However it is important to note.
So for durability and ease of use, the FNT is the way to go.
For ultra non-detectable, total comfort system... Ultra-minimal.
