My doctor won't prescribe me any Proscar, so I was thinking "When the hell is Merck's patent going to wear off so that I can buy Propecia from the pharmacy for like $10 instead of $50?" The FDA's site says that Merck's exclusive patent for Propecia ended Dec.19 2000, and for Proscar it ended Mar. 20, 2001. Why is there no generic propecia yet? I know that I can get around this by ordering proscar from overseas, but I prefer to get things from the pharmacy for the obvious reasons.
