Actually, 1/5 of a Proscar is equal to one Propecia. Proscar=5 mg, Propecia= 1mg. Same product, different dosage. I split Proscar 4 ways because it's easier. Go to your local drugstore and buy a pill splitter for about 5 dollars. It really beats using a knife or other sharp object and it makes a perfect cut almost every time. I've found that when I cut pills with anything other than the splitter, they tend to crumble. The pill splitter allows you to cut and store the small pieces without fear of the pills crumbling.
