No, of course not. They're not making any claims that the laser treatment would in any way affect DHT production, so THIS WOULD NOT BE A LONG-TERM, PERMANENT SOLUTION FOR THE CAUSE OF HAIRLOSS! If on the other hand, if by increasing blood flow and increasing the healing of scarred scalp tissue, it might slow the process down and improve the look of your hair, that's not bad. If it really does work, this would need to be part of a regimen that includes a DHT inhibitor a.k.a. Dutasteride and other things. This might even be a reasonable alternative to Minoxidil for those who no longer want to be on it or who do not want to start it. The previous poster is right. If they're confident enough and can afford the money to submit it to the FDA, there might be some benefit derived from it. Also, they've got Dr. Unger as director of the FDA application, and he's very legit and qualified.
Of course, having said all that, this might in the end not prove all that effective. Again, it's been talked about on the national networks and in some major newspapers, and I don't think TIME would throw something on its pages without doing some checking up.
I think we need to have people start doing some research to see if any clinical trials have been carried out using this product, how they were carried out, what were the results and if they've been published. I'll try it and see if anything comes up.
