My hair was getting pretty damn thin, and I regrew loads on Propecia the first 18 months before I started to lose it again. Ditto for Minoxidil which I started taking three and a half years after I started Propecia (yeah, I pay too damn much I know). But to say it just doesn't work is not entirely accurate; it doesn't restore hair, it slows loss so the sooner you take it the better the results for as long as it holds out. And the results show more than 5% btw...that sounds like the very lucky few who are "super responders" who don't seem to ever suffer the eventual slow loss that occurs after the high point.
