The Importance of DHT Reduction--I stand by my position

On the last page I was informed by Bryan that DHT reduction is over-rated and that research has proven Rogaine (minoxadil) to be as effective as RU58841. I am a physician who has experimented on hundreds of men with virtually every type of minoxadil formulation and delivery system known. I also have had extensive communications with Rittmaster and Uno over the years (perhaps the two most respected MPB researchers alive) prior to getting my own RU (as well as other prototype anti-baldness drugs) manufactured and trying it on patients. We can all tell you from our experience that minoxadil doesn't hold a candle to RU in treating baldness in Macaques (and therefore RU is far more likely to work similarly better than Rogaine in humans), and that we are also in agreement that until genetic manipulation becomes an option, interfering with androgens and their metabolites (such as DHT) is the only sensible approach that is supported by consistent research and observations. Anyone who claims otherwise to you either has their own agenda or is fixated on a position that holds no credence (such as quoting someone's self serving nonsupported study). As I have mentioned in prior postings, I am embarassed to admit that I too have prescribed or suggested my share of off-the-wall remedies in the past that were not related to androgen manipulation, and NONE of them worked. Just because the finasteride's partial DHT reduction hasn't halted baldness as we had hoped does not mean we should either: give up on using finasteride, not be enthusiastic about the potential of Dut and it's superior abilites to reduce DHT, or (most importantly) allow ourselves to opt for nonsensical remedies. My only purpose here is help steer readers from quakery and points of view not supported by facts and experience.
