Yes, Retin A is a real penetration inhancer, including for minoxadil. I'm glad the combo is working well for you. Spiro (as you probably know) has been around for decades as an anti-hypertensive. If it was very effective for MPB, those patients on high oral doses (oral always works better than topical for hair loss when it can be employed) would have demonstrated results over the years that were obvious to them and their physicians. Topical spiro formulations are often cosmetically unappealing (messy, smelly) and don't deliver enough drug to the follicles deep in the dermis to be theoretically helpful. It is very safe to try, however, and remember that spiro is an old drug and currently inexpensive so you shouldn't pay too much for it. Regarding minoxadil, secondary growth WAS noticed by us physicians in the case of oral minoxadil when being used for hypertension during its use over more recent years, unfortunately the growth is mainly only vellus in quality, and not located where balding men needed it. Oral minoxadil, unfortunately, is one of the most side-effect ridden oral ant-hypertensives, so you guys should definitely shy away from taking it by mouth. Regarding Dut, my predictions on it's abilities to regrow hair aren't that much more useful than anyone else's who isnt' privy to Glaxco's research (one of my peeve's with this forum is all the useless predictions made by those with no idea). On the theoretical side, however, I do believe we can be optimistic (there is othing else out there, soon to be made available, that holds the potential of Dut). Personally, I take the chiropractor at his word--he has nothing to gain by confabulating his results. I hope you found this perspective useful.
