good post and i agree that it is quite silly that after 60 years of knowing androgens are responsible the best we can do now in 2002 is reduce androgen binding. i have read many studies showing which proteins and/or genes are ppromoted/inhibited by androgens on scalp hair and perhaps modifying these substances or something which turns off certain caspases to halt cellular apoptosis would be the next breakthrough. the "androgen effet" could in theory be nullified without any change in androgen binding.
