>>My problem with your constant reminders of systemics is that the topicals you recommend don't hold a candle to Dut (or even finasteride).<<

Really? Hey, remember the last time you used the phrase "doesn't hold a candle..."? It was your statement that Hideo Uno had found that topical minoxidil "doesn't hold a candle" to RU58841, and I proved to you that that claim was FALSE. I had hoped that you would be a little more cautious after that! :-) (The preceding was said jokingly. I'm just having a little fun with ya!)

Can you cite some evidence for your claim that the topicals I recommend "don't hold a candle" to finasteride? I'm sure you're aware that at least in stumptailed macaques, topical RU58841 was *definitely* more effective than oral finasteride. How do you explain that? Do you really think that balding in macaques is so terribly different from balding in humans, enough to explain that discrepancy?

Or are you going to say that RU58841 is an exception, and it's the OTHER, commonly-available things like topical spiro that you're talking about? If so, are you aware of the comparisons I've made between the published data for anagen hair percentage increases with Propecia, and topical antiandrogens like 11a-OHP? How do you explain the close similarities, if the common topical antiandrogens (not to mention RU58841 and fluridil) "don't hold a candle" to Propecia? I'd like to hear your justification for that claim. (And then there's Rogaine and SODs. 'Nuff said.)

>>It's like you are on some kind of mission, but I fail to understand the motivation.<<

My mission is extraordinarily simple: I cannot tolerate building up false hope in people and making extravagant claims for a new drug, in the absence of any evidence for those claims. I'm just setting the record straight.
