Oops...I was gonna get to that!
I suggest using a simple alcohol vehicle. That's what they used on the hamsters, and it oughtta be good enough for us, too. About a 20%-40% mixture of LA in ethanol, using as pure an ethanol as you can get, which in our case is the 190-proof Everclear. In fact, I'm a little troubled at having only 95% alcohol for that; I have a certain fear that even that remaining 5% of water will adversely affect the ability of the alcohol to dissolve fatty acids. But use Everclear, and hope for the best.
Of course, you should keep in mind that Liang and Hiipakka apparently used *pure* GLA in that one human test for their patent; they evidently just had him rub a drop of the pure fatty acid directly onto his forehead, without any kind of vehicle at all! However, I think we want to make sure at all costs that it works its way down into the hair follicle. I'd dissolve it in as pure an alcohol as I could obtain.
