Well, since my uncle lost both testicles in a car accident at 28 as an N3 and still progressed to an N6 at 35, I fail to see how 100% DHT inhibition stopping MPB is a FACT. Though this is a rare occurence, some castrated males do continue to lose hair over the long-term. Since my uncle has gotten into his 50's, he now has to take anti-estrogen medication to supress Gyno breats, so obviously he was producing less testosterone and DHT...very sad. This is why I don't buy that DHT is the alpha and the omega in MPB. Luckily, he has no other health conditions, so that MIGHT be a good sign to those concerned about the effects of long-term DHT inhibition on a large scale.
Don't get me wrong, I do agree that DHT is a large cause of balding. TO deny that would be to deny the facts. Everyone is different, and in the end, we really don't know the cause of MPB at this point. Suggesting otherwise is pure speculation.
In addition, I agree that Avodart's potent DHT inhibiton will help many - I just don't think this is the end of the road. I'd love to think that, but I can't allow myself to do so until I see proven long-term results like Finasteride has. We shall see.
