>>Hey, it looks like you could use some schooling in proper grammar and spelling, too!
Sorry for that, but if you're going to flame ME, then I reserve the right to send a little zinger YOUR way, too! :-) <<
No, that's okay Bryan...I know your mind. You simply couldn't resist stuping that low. I am afraid check my TYPOGRAPHICAL errors are not at the top of my action-item list. I will admit I am quite stupid in comparison to you. I know nothing I assure you.
>>First of all, the adrenal gland doesn't produce DHT. It produces weaker androgens like dehydroepiandrosterone and androstenedione. Those may be converted to testosterone in other tissues, and perhaps eventually to DHT.
Second of all, where did you get the idea that those weak androgens can increase, "especially under stress"? Are you confusing those androgens with other hormones like cortisol? ;-) As far as I can tell, there is no feedback mechanism for androgens as far as the adrenal gland is concerned; for instance, I can't find anything about LH having a stimulating effect on it, which would seem to be the most obvious way that it would work. If you know otherwise, then please cite a reference for that claim. I'll be happy to read all about it.
And don't forget this key statement that James Hamilton made in his study of castrates and hairloss: "These studies of eunuchs indicate that, even in the absence of testicular secretions and of any detectable increase in androgens from extratesticular sources, regrowth of coarse hairs on the frontal hairline is nil if the hairs have been lost when the subject was young". Did you get that? There was no detectable increase in "extratesticular androgens".<<
I am well aware of the fact that the adrenal gland does not "produce" dht. Notice I never said that...so don't misquote me (implications are a bitch). I cannot cite a reference because I don't document everything I read. I read for knowledge, not to prove or disprove someone else argument. Once again thank you for learning me!
>>Is that because they contradict your theories?<<
No, they contradict common sense...
>>Sonny, I've already thoroughly explained my position on azelaic acid and its problems. I'm not going to rehash it here again. See my past postings on it.<<
Yes, if memory serves me correct you labeled it "window dressing" in revivogen. So you do not support azealic acid as an effective treatment for MPB. Neither do I. But I also don't manipulate studies to my contentious advantage. I only accept in vivo studies as categorical.
BTW, you cannot cite GI ratings since they aren't universal by any means. I supose if you were well-versed in nutrition you would know that. I suggest you stick to studies and debating--about the only two things you are good for.
Thanks for the learning experience...now how about you answer my thread at alt.baldspot.
peace
