Millions? 99.999999999999999999999% of Americans have never heard of dutasteride. The only ones queing up for it are a couple of hundred hard core hair loss sufferers.
Glaxo would make FAR more money selling this drug for hair loss if it was approved for MPB rather than trying to sell it for MPB without approval. As it is now, they can't make any claims about it for hair growth since it isn't approved for that. They can't advertise at all. They can't promote it to doctors or patients. Obviously, for any drug to be successful for a certain condition, it has to be marketed, and Glaxo can't do that for MPB.
