Yes, but that's only the so-called "global photographic assessment"! I suspected that that's the evidence that you were going to cite! However, I was specifically asking for evidence that HAIR-COUNTS continue to increase during the second year, and in what percentage of users. Those pictures don't supply any of that information!

The speculation I've seen is that even though the average hair-count reached its maximum in that trial during the first year (there were probably a few outliers who continued to increase a bit during the second year, of course), most of the subjects who continued to show improvements in their photos during the second year probably did so by continuing to THICKEN their miniaturized hair, and not necessarily by adding to their numbers.

Once again, just to drive the point home: there isn't any data from Merck about the percentages of men who did in fact continue to have increased hair-counts during the second year, and men who did not. Therefore, to wonder about the equivalent stats with dutasteride is simply idle speculation. We don't even know what they are for finasteride.

HardwoOd, I told you IN PLAIN ENGLISH (I even capitalized the critical words in my previous post, assuming that you'd catch on without my having to explain it to you!) that the 2.5 mg dose of dutasteride grew 37% more hair than finasteride COMPARED TO PLACEBO. That's a more accurate way to compare two or more hairloss drugs! Yes, it grew 50% more hairs COMPARED TO BASELINE, but I was talking about compared to PLACEBO, as I clearly indicated. I'll leave it to you as an exercise to determine the significance of those two different ways of looking at the data.

Bryan
