Truthfully,
I wouldn't even start out on 2.5 mg of Dutasteride...
Why?
Well, first, because of the exorbitant cost, but second, because of the risk of tellogen effluvium. Even if you're already on finasteride, the leap from DHT inhibition from the finasteride to .5 mg of Dutasteride may cause a shock to the body, and hence, TE. Imagine what the jump from finasteride to 2.5 mg dutasteride MAY do. (I'm not a doctor, so don't take bet your farm on this...)
Furthermore...
To play it safe, I would recommend to many of us that we start out a month on .5 mg of Dutasteride, and gradually up the dose per month. That way, our bodies will be able to adjust to the drop in DHT levels, and possibly prevent any unwanted side effects. During that time, we can also work on finding better deals for Avodart as well.
I'm certainly grateful for Avodart finally arriving. The .5 mg inhibition of DHT will be quite a godsend for out little hairs. Keep your head up guys, we're in for some happy days ahead of us.
(BTW, does anybody know of any doctors in the LA area willing to prescribe Avodart?)
Peace, Love, and Goodwill
